Video Editing & Creation
As an in-house designer and video specialist at Groq, I had the privilege of working with some of the sharpest minds in the industry. I worked on a wide range of video assets: stage-ready sizzle reels, explainer videos, shareable social content, and really anything that was thrown at me.
LEAP 2025 Mainstage Presentation Video (Aramco Partnership)
This started as a 15 second sizzle video that was to quickly show a recap of the previous year. The first draft was so well received that it then expanded to become the entire intro session, replacing the slides that had been planned. I worked closely with multiple C-level stakeholders to bring this vision to life.
CHALLENGES
This was an extremely tight turnaround, with barely a week before the event when the request to expand it came through. The footage we had to work with was inconsistent in quality, and for some portions we had no footage at all. There was also the complication of working with the team that was on location in The KSA to make edits up to the day before the event. With a 7 hour time difference, and accounting for meetings and pre-event activities, my work day started around 2am.
SOLUTION
I needed to keep the video's energy high, and to keep people engaged in the story being told rather than worrying that some footage was blurry. One of my super powers is being creative under pressure, and this was quite the gauntlet. I relied on my team to handle the other elements of the event (there were multiple presentations beyond this) and to maintain visual consistency while I focused solely on video. The result was wildly impactful, and strengthened the continued partnership between Groq and Aramco.
GroqChat Debut
At Groq, we put high value on making things real. Real, unfiltered demos, real reactions, real-time speed. When we made GroqChat available for the public to try, the overwhelming response was "wow." So this video was created to showcase the 'wow-factor.'
CHALLENGES
Being a geo-agnostic company, we had to film this in multiple locations. I had to coordinate the vision with the people handling filming, since I couldn't be on site with short notice. Another hurdle was finding people who were ok with being filmed.
SOLUTION
I kept in constant sync with the film crew, and together we were able to establish a seamless workflow.
Groq Goes Viral
After a truly viral moment for Groq, we wanted to make a video capturing all that had happened in recent weeks. We built on the momentum of the moment by showcasing a snapshot of the coverage we were receiving.
CHALLENGES
Sourcing the material for this was a huge task, with hundreds of tweets, posts and videos popping up daily. Also, the fact that the stats we put in the video were outdated nearly as soon as we released a version.
SOLUTION
I became a one-woman army, seeking out content, assessing the best ones to tell the story. Then, to empower my team to make updates on the fly, I recreated the video in Adobe Express. That way, they could change the stats and images out as needed without relying on me.
Pi Day Social Video
Sometimes you need something fun and out of the ordinary to bring some life into a brand. The direction I got for this project was: Could you make a fun video for Pi Day? So, naturally I went all out.
CHALLENGES
I'd never done something like this, and also had no props.
SOLUTION
Being new at something has never stopped me before, and luckily I have a plethora of craft supplies. I made some vinyl clings at home and voila, Groq branded cookware.
Groq Hardware Scaling
To capture the strength and flexibility of Groq hardware, I was tasked with making a video showing how our products scaled. It was not practical to bring a film crew in to film the process, so we went with a 3D render instead. I managed an external vendor who created the animation that I dreamt up, and handled the graphics and editing on my end.
CHALLENGES
Troubleshooting complex 3D files with the vendor, having less control since I wasn't animating it myself, and managing stakeholders to keep revisions to a minimum to stay on budget.
SOLUTION
I aimed to make the animator's life as easy as possible by providing detailed storyboards for how I wanted the motion and scenes to play out. I also visited our headquarters and photographed some of our products to give the animator a better idea of lighting and texture.
Groq + Daily: Llama 3.1B Collaboration
Due to the sensitive nature of a pre-release collaboration, I was brought onto this project just two days before it was due. This was for Groq in collaboration with Daily, showcasing early access to Meta’s Llama 3.1 model on launch day. I wrote and delivered the on-camera introduction, created the motion graphics, and handled all editing and repackaging into multiple video lengths and formats.
CHALLENGES
Aside from the tight deadline, this was one of the most sensitive projects I had worked on. My boss and our art director were out of office at the same time, and so I was in the middle of handling a website relaunch - also not my usual job. Hosting/producing/editing video for another company was not something I'd been asked to do before with Groq, so I suddenly found myself working with a brand new team of people to get this executed.
SOLUTION
I was extremely lucky to be able to lean on and collaborate with the excellent team at Daily. They stepped up to help with some of the editing, given the tight turnaround. Armed with high quality assets and thoughtful instruction, I was able to speed through production on my end, and deliver a quality video in record time.
Groq Hunch Demo
When Groq and Hunch joined forces, Hunch didn't have the resources to create an explainer video, so they turned to our in-house team. I was able to create a video using their brand look and feel that both companies could benefit from.
CHALLENGES
Short timeframe (3 days), and only a silent demo video was provided to demonstrate. I had to quickly research the partnership, write a script, and create a Hunch-branded video.
SOLUTION
I recorded the voiceover myself, and partnered with experts on other teams to make sure the script I came up with was accurate and told the right story. By asking for help when I needed it, but relying on myself for the bulk of the creative assets, I was able to deliver a high quality asset within the deadline.
Groq Weekly Newsletter
Groq launched a weekly video newsletter to boost engagement on our YouTube page. We already had an established email newsletter, so the task was for me to take that each Tuesday, write a script, and produce a video by Thursday. This was one of the series, and we had great success boosting views & subscribers during the run of this segment.
CHALLENGES
Although I had the email newsletter as a guide, it wasn't good video content in that state. There were often just a couple sentences on each topic in order to keep things easily consumable. The other challenge is that this was in addition to all my other responsibilities, and the weekly cadence was tough to keep up with at times.
SOLUTION
I took it upon myself to research each topic, chat with people within the company who had experience with the things we were covering, and test out apps and demos for myself. That way the script I came up with was from my own understanding rather than parroting a script someone else gave me. I also handled creating any graphics or animation that was needed. After a few weeks I had it down to a science.
Graphic Design
Graphic design has always been a huge part of my career, and it was no different at Groq. We had a very talented and capable in-house design team, and I was proud to lend my talent and support to them. Together, we crafted a brand with the polish of a much larger company, standing out with a level of professionalism beyond its competitors.
The following is a selection of some of my favorite projects from my time there.
Presentation Design
Crafting a story via slideware is one of my passions. I love being able to really dig into an idea and find the best visual to pair with the narrative the speaker is trying to communicate. As an expert in PowerPoint, I've been able to use this skill at just about every position I've had, and Groq was no exception.
Trade Show Support
The last big trade show Groq did while I was there was SC '23. I contributed significantly to both design and production. I collaborated on the booth wall design, created looping slide deck videos for the monitors, and helped staff the booth during the event. I also filmed on site and produced the highlight video below, showcasing our live llama and all the action at the Groq booth during the event.
